The amount of support should fit the trip.
HOW I HELP
Some trips benefit from me deep in the weeds. Others need one clear recommendation, a booking handled well, or a second opinion before you hit confirm. You can bring me the first rough idea, a mostly built itinerary, or something you already know you want. I’ll plug in where my judgment or legwork will make the trip better or easier.
WHAT I ADD
More than a list of options.
Sometimes part of the job is finding possibilities you hadn’t considered. But a longer list isn’t the point. The useful work is understanding what matters, narrowing the field, making the tradeoffs clear, telling you when the plan needs changing, and making sure the details work once the decisions are made.
I listen for what actually matters.
Preferences don’t always arrive as neat answers to a generic intake form. Sometimes the useful clue is in a story.
A STORY ABOUT SANDALS TOLD ME A LOT
One client told me about once being turned away from a luxury-hotel restaurant because his nice sandals were deemed flip-flops. What I heard wasn’t just “avoid dress codes.” It was: beautiful and upscale, yes; stuffy or exclusionary, absolutely not. That became a useful filter for the hotels and experiences I recommended.
I make choices manageable.
More options aren’t automatically more helpful. I organize the tradeoffs so you can see what’s meaningfully different and make a confident decision without spending another three hours comparison-shopping.
CLARITY WITHOUT THE HOMEWORK
For Erik’s Mallorca trip, I deliberately brought him meaningfully different possibilities across activities, trip styles, and price points, then helped him narrow toward the vacation he actually wanted. He later wrote: “This planning allowed me to be extremely intentional about identifying and meeting my own needs with minimal work on my end.”
I right-size the plan.
An itinerary can be technically possible and still be a bad idea. Sometimes the highest-value recommendation is to take something out.
ADVENTURE, MINUS THE MARATHON
Valerie and Matt came to me with a Spanish honeymoon outline they later described as “way too ambitious.” We cut it back without flattening it, keeping the adventure while making the trip manageable and relaxing.
I make the details disappear.
Execution is part of the advice. The plan has to work with real people, real luggage, real room configurations, and real-world timing — not just look good on a screen.
THE DETAILS HAVE TO WORK IN REAL LIFE
♦︎ For a traveler with accessibility needs, I confirmed the cabin solution directly with the cruise line instead of trusting the category label.
♦︎ For a family traveling with small kids, I changed transfer companies when the first couldn’t tell me what kind of car seats it would provide.
♦︎ On a group trip, my reconfirmation caught that a dinner reservation was sitting on the restaurant’s books for the following year. I worked it out seamlessly for them.
Wherever the trip stands, I can meet it there.
You don’t need to decide which “level of service” you need to work with me. Tell me where the trip is now; I’ll help figure out the useful next step.
“We want to celebrate a milestone, but we’re not sure where or how.”
STILL FORMING
I can clarify the brief, compare destinations or trip formats, and build the shape of the trip.
“I have a rough outline of what I think this should be.”
TAKING SHAPE
I can work out routing, hotels, pacing, experiences, transportation, and the connective tissue that makes the pieces cohere.
“We’ve settled on the main thing but need help with the gaps.”
MOSTLY HANDLED
Maybe it’s a hotel, flights, pre-/post-cruise plans, transfers, touring, or one stubborn decision that still needs expertise.
“I’ve spent a bunch of time researching and I know what I want.”
READY TO BOOK
I can make the bookings cleanly, maybe add some perks, watch the details, and stay connected to the reservation.
Want to browse for a straightforward hotel stay yourself? That works too — and I can still lend some expert advice.
Good advice doesn’t always mean adding more.
If my job is to make the trip better, sometimes that means recommending less: less itinerary, less spend, less of my own involvement.
DO LESS
Victoria and Lee initially had Paris, Barcelona, and Milan in mind but they would have spent too much time in motion rather than having meaningful experiences. We cut Milan; Paris and Barcelona got the attention they deserved.
BOOK IT YOURSELF
For Hannah’s sabbatical, I discovered that airfare was more economical when they booked it directly with the airline. I said so.
USE THE SPECIALIST
When Shannon wanted a supported walking trip through the Cotswolds, I decided a dedicated walking-tour company was better suited to the core itinerary. I pointed her there, then handled the hotel piece where I could add genuine value.
KEEP WATCHING
After I booked a hotel in Milan for Kelly’s family, the rate dropped. Because my system monitors price changes, I rebooked and saved them more than $250.
THE HEART OF THE WORK
Most trips don’t need a special label.
A couple planning two weeks in Italy. A family summer vacation. A solo adventure. A honeymoon with more sightseeing than sunbathing. A few cities stitched together well. This is the heart of what I do: understand what you want the trip to be, then help make it work.
Trip doesn’t fit in a neat category? That’s ok — most don’t.
Some kinds of travel benefit from more specialized knowledge — and deserve a little more explanation:
A FEW AREAS WHERE I TAKE DIFFERENT TACKS
Traveling as a Group
Friends matching calendars, several families, room blocks, or maybe organizational travel — with special attention to the person who would otherwise become the group’s travel department.
Cruises
Cruise can be one answer to a trip, and there’s an array of options that could make one viable. I help decide whether it fits your goals, then match the line, ship, itinerary, cabin, and travel around the sailing to the people taking it.
Booking + Advice
Hotel already picked? Flight needs ticketing? Shortlist needs pressure-testing? Want to browse for a straightforward hotel stay yourself? This is the lighter-touch lane — including advisor-connected self-service hotel booking.

Want to know what happens after we get started?
Spoiler alert: there’s no secret formula. But I do have a method for how I plan, how we decide the right scope, what fees look like when they’re relevant, and how I prepare you for the trip.
Ready to talk about your trip?
Bring me the trip as it is. We’ll take it from there. If I can make it better, easier, or both, that’s where we start.
